22nd edition of trilateral naval exercise "Malabar 2018" started between India, Japan & USA
- From 6th June to 15th June
- The exercise features both ashore & at-sea training off the coast of Guam in Philippine sea
- Training will focus on
- High-end war fighting skill sets
- Subject matter expert and professional exchanges
- Combined carrier strike group operations
- Maritime patrol
- Reconnaissance operations
- Surface & Anti-submarine warfare
- Medical operations
- Damage control
- Helicopter operations Visit, board, search and seizure operations
- India is being represented by
- Stealth frigate INS Sahyadri
- Stealth corvettes INS Kamorta
- Deepak-class fleet tanker INS Shakti
- IANS
- Along with these, P-81 Neptune advanced maritime patrol/anti submarine warfare aircraft will also participate in the wargame
