18th edition of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit was held in Qingdao, China on June 9th and 10th 2018.
- The summit concluded with adoption of Quingdao declaration
- Declaration calls for implementing 3-year plan to combat terrorism, separatism and extremism
- Also calls for implementation of treaty on long-term good neighborliness, Friendship and cooperation.
- All the heads of SCO countries held restricted meeting before summit
- Here, China renewed its agreement with India on sharing data on the cross-border flow of waters from Brahmaputra river during flood season.
- Under a MoU signed on 9th June, 2018, the Chinese side would provide hydrological data from May 15th to October 15th (The period when Brahmaputra is prone to floods).
- China would also provide hydro-logical data if the water level exceeds a "Mutually agreed" level during non-flood season.
- Both sides also signed an agreement on exporting non-Basmati rice to China.
- Two countries also set a trade target of 100 billion dollars by 2020
